This phone will be available exclusively from T-Mobile and we will have to wait till it reaches the market here. It has unique applications and like iPhone, bear a resemblance to the software used on iPhone which allows touch screen device and allow owners to place icons linking to sites such as You tube. With just a couple of short clicks, customers can find and download a wide range of innovative software applications — from games to social networking and on-the-go shopping — to personalize their phone and enhance their mobile lifestyle. When the phone launches next month, dozens of unique, first-of-a-kind Android applications will be available for download.
The iPhone and Android phones both ship with Web browsers based on the WebKit rendering engine. So, this will be so identical that applications will also render on webkit based browsers as Safari and Google Chrome, used by iPhone and Android.
I thought initially, Google was supposed to unveil the GPhone but than I understand, Google is not releasing any mobile devices on its own. It has collaborated with several technology and wireless companies to develop Android which is an open source platform that can be used by any third party developers to create applications. And I gather, the Google Director, Andy Rubin won't comment on the future plans to create a mobile phone of its own.
What so interesting I hear is, Amazon.com MP3 music store will be pre-loaded on the T-Mobile G1, the first phone to be powered by Android. Verizon has given a warm response and AT&T has yet to comment publicly on it.
